Original Baroque or Period Pieces?

Authentic Baroque Originals date from the 17th and 18th centuries and are rare and expensive. Most furniture sold today as Baroque furniture consists of period pieces: made in the 19th and 20th centuries after Baroque designs, often in excellent quality, for example by Italian workshops. Does Baroque furniture suit a modern home?

As a standalone piece, yes, very well. A Baroque mirror above a simple sideboard or a Baroque armchair in a white room are classic combinations used by interior designers.

What is the difference between Baroque and Rococo?

Rococo is the later, more playful phase of the Baroque: lighter, asymmetrical, with shell and foliage motifs. You’ll find both in this collection.

How do I care for gilded frames?

Dust only with a dry cloth; never use water or cleaners. Gold leaf and bole gilding cannot withstand moisture.

Can a Baroque armchair be reupholstered?

Yes, this is common with period pieces. The description states whether a piece has its original upholstery or has been reupholstered.
